FAQs

Find answers to common questions about commissioning a line drawing, pricing, and available styles.

Do you accept custom commission requests?

Absolutely! I love working on custom commission projects. Feel free to share your ideas, and we can discuss turning them into a unique art piece.

How can I request a commission?

Requesting a commission is simple. Just head over to the “Contact Me" page on my website and fill out the provided form. This will give me an idea of your preferences and vision.

Can I provide my own reference photos or ideas?

Of course! Your input is valuable in creating a piece that resonates with you. Feel free to provide reference photos or describe your vision, and we'll work together to bring it to life.

What mediums do you work with for commissions?

I specialize in acrylic and oil paint. Additionally I create single continuous contour line ink drawings and mosaics. (Please ask for mosaic photos for past creations.) Each medium offers a unique aesthetic, and I can guide you in choosing the one that suits your vision.

How long does a commission usually take to complete?

The timeframe depends on the complexity and size of the artwork. On average, it takes [X weeks/months]. I'll provide you with a more accurate estimate once we discuss the details of your project.

What do I need to know to commission a pet portrait?

All of my paintings are original oil painted pets against an acrylic background on gallery wrap canvas - ready to hang! (Traditional canvas, which is meant for framing, is available by request.)

All prices are for one animal - a second or third animal may easily be included for a 20% or 30% increase in cost respectively. Buyer pays shipping.

Since I work from clear, sharp photos, you may email, text message or send through USPS as many images as you like - the more you can send, the better my perception of your pet will be. In regards to the background of the painting...favorite colors, patterns, fabric, home decor or pet toys make for a unique painting and treasured portrait of your pet. Your thoughts and input are encouraged.

Deposit to begin a painting is half the total cost and payable via venmo, zelle, personal check or square. The balance may be paid in the same way after your painting is received and completely satisfactory!

When you are ready to pay a deposit, I will use one of your pet’s photos to create a live link to receive payment on my website. Additionally, you may photograph, reproduce and reprint your pet’s portrait in any way you would like. Currently, you may expect your valued and delivered painting within four months of your deposit receipt.

And gift certificates are available for purchase...allowing you to surprise someone you love with an original hand painted pet portrait!
