Capturing Life's Beauty Through Artwork

Capturing Life's Beauty Through Artwork

Welcome to my website! I am Pamela, a visual artist specializing in line drawing, pet portraits, wildlife series, and abstract art. With a passion for capturing life's beauty, I create unique and captivating pieceOriginally from Lake Charles, LA,  I recently moved to Lake Norman in North Carolina. My dream of becoming an artist developed at age 10. The ability to become a full time fine artist came at age 55! Life, family, art teaching, ranching, and experiences fill up the biographical pages of the 45 years between my dream and its fruition.

My lifelong love of creatures is evident in my drawings, paintings, photographs and mosaics. Consistently, I have been told by fellow artists-in-the-know to “focus on only one art medium”. Not once have I followed that advice and consequently, I have at least three different art projects in progress at any given time...diverse in subject matter, different art mediums and each requiring a separate mindset to complete. I believe my philosophy on art diversification has helped me to create a good base of art collectors and continual commissioned art referrals.

I was a photography major at McNeese State University and a survey/architectural draftsman but now I only draw in ink. My most oftenly sold prints are those of Frida Kahlo where I’ve drawn her portrait in permanent ink using one single continuous contour line without lifting my pen. This method of portraiture, I call my OCD-ness.

Having completed over 80 pet portraits, I am an accomplished pet portraitist with an excellent referral business.  My pet portraits are done in oil paint on canvas and social media and referrals have given me more portrait commissions than I can keep up with.

My WILDlife Series paintings are made using extremely vibrant colored acrylic paint on black canvas backgrounds with bold black lines - kind of coloring bookish. My wild animals are true focal point pieces of fine artwork, those which command attention when displayed anywhere!
